By STHS Communication Department

Lung cancer patients are being sought to participate in a study being conducted by the LSU Health and Sciences Center and the School of Medicine to evaluate genetic predisposition to the condition.

The study's primary aim is to find and understand all of the genes that cause lung cancer, which could lead to better personalized treatments and greater treatment options. Identification of gene mutations in lung cancer patients helps increase targeted treatment options in those diagnosed with lung cancer.

Find more information on the study, which is financed by the National Institutes of Health, at https://www.medschool.lsuhsc.edu/lungcancer/.
