St. Tammany Parish Hospital
St. Tammany Parish Hospital, the flagship of St. Tammany Health System, is a 280-bed hospital with ongoing renovations and additions since 2022 that make it not only an aesthetically pleasing environment to work in but a state-of-the-art facility to receive and provide care.
The main hospital boasts 30 ICU beds, 10 Neurological ICU beds, 4 Pediatric ICU beds and 14 Neonatal ICU beds. There are 12 operating suites with an additional 12 room surgery center under construction.
Its 43-bed Emergency Department is a Level 3 trauma center and an integral part of St. Tammany Health System's position as an accredited chest pain center and primary stroke center. There is also a dedicated pediatric Emergency Department and inpatient unit. The new 17 suite Mother/Baby unit and New Family Center for laboring mothers make St. Tammany Parish Hospital the premier place mothers choose to deliver in St. Tammany Parish.
St. Tammany Health System cares for its community from birth to end of life, making it the perfect location to receive Family Medicine training.
The brand new, purpose-built Family Medicine Clinic opened its doors to begin caring for our community in March 2024! This 18000 square foot facility will house 18 exam rooms, 2 procedure rooms, a physical therapy gym, a point of care lab as well as a patient lab-draw station, and X-ray. There is also ample classroom and meeting space, dedicated individual resident workspace, on-site faculty offices, and a resident lounge where lunch will be provided. The clinic will serve as the “home base” of the residency, providing an up-to-date space for patient care and classroom learning as well as space and opportunity for collegiality and down-time with your faculty and peers.
To provide the best educational experience, a few of the specialty months will occur offsite at Ochsner clinics. These include Gynecology, Dermatology, Sports Medicine, Ophthalmology and Psychiatry.
Additionally, there is a longitudinal experience at our affiliated long-term care facilities, including nursing home, rehabilitation and long-term acute care. Each of these locations is in close proximity to the hospital and clinic. These sites include:
