Patient Family Advisory Council
PFACQS plays a crucial role in our community. However, it's important to note that participation in the council cannot be used to fulfill community service hours requirements. The focus of the council is on quality and safety, and its impact on the community is not just significant, but also reassuring and confidence-inspiring.
As a member of our council, you will:
How you can volunteer to be a part of The St. Tammany Health System mission.
As a part of the St. Tammany Parish Hospital family since 1955, the St. Tammany Hospital Guild is made up of community members, both men and women, who have a strong love of the community and a desire to help their hospital and fellow citizens. In addition to donating to the hospital through the lobby Gift Shop, they provide scholarships to deserving hospital employees working to further their medical education. For more information, contact STHS Volunteer Coordinator Shirley Primes at 985-898-4008 or via email at sprimes@stph.org.
Hospice volunteers are specially trained individuals who visit terminally ill patients and their families at home and provide comfort, support and companionship. Volunteers may run errands or simply sit with the patients and read to them. Volunteer clerical positions within Hospice of St. Tammany are also available. Click here for more on St. Tammany Hospice, or, to learn more about volunteer opportunities, call Stephanie or Brenda at 985-871-5976.
Parenting is a difficult job and often stressful for new parents. We hope you'll consider volunteering to help others as they experience the joys and compromises that come with parenting. By donating a few hours per month, you can make a difference in the lives of children and families in our community. Click here for more information on The Parenting Center, or, to learn more about volunteer opportunities, contact Parenting Center Executive Director Lori Cage at 985-898-4667 or via email at lcage@stph.org.
