COVINGTON – For the 18th year running, St. Tammany Health System has been named Best Hospital in West St. Tammany Parish by readers of Sophisticated Woman magazine.
In addition, St. Tammany Health System’s Dr. Thomas Anzalone was named Best Anesthesiologist, and Dr. Ralph Millett was named Best Internist.
“Anytime we earn recognition we’re thrilled about it,” Health System President and CEO Joan Coffman said of the awards, which were announced in Sophisticated Woman’s April 2023 issue, “but to be recognized based on a vote of readers – that is, our patients and neighbors here on the Northshore – is particularly gratifying.”
Coffman went on to praise the dedication of the health system’s workforce, which she credited as the secret behind St. Tammany’s nearly two-decade-long string of recognition by Sophisticated Woman.
“This award belongs to our doctors, our nurses, our kitchen staff, our accountants, our Environmental Services team, our clerks, our lab team – indeed, everyone at the health system,” Coffman said. “Their compassion and professionalism are the reason we continue to be the Northshore’s healthcare destination of choice.
“I offer my congratulations to each and every one of them, as well as to Dr. Anzalone and Dr. Millett – and my thanks go to all those who voted for us and who continue to trust us with their family’s healthcare,” she added.
Sophisticated Woman has been hosting its annual Northshore’s Best Awards since 2005. St. Tammany Health System has been named Best Hospital every year since.
