The Louisiana Nurses Foundation held its 2024 Nightingale Awards and Gala on Saturday (Aug. 31) in Baton Rouge, and St. Tammany Health System’s Nursing Department was well represented.
Two STHS registered nurses, Toby Tournillon and Kristi Lamarque, were among those honored with Nightingale Awards at the event.
Additionally, four other STHS nurses – Michelle Boudreaux, Corie Johnston, Emily Price and Keri Skeins – were honored with nominations.
Lamarque, an STHS colleague since 2016, was named the foundation’s Clinical Practice Nurse of the Year, which recognizes a registered nurse who consistently delivers exemplary direct patient care in a primary nursing role.
Tournillon, who has been with the health system since 1999, was named Advanced Practice Registered Nurse of the Year, which honors a registered nurse for outstanding direct patient care. This category includes nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, nurse anesthetists and clinical nurse specialists.
The Louisiana Nurses Foundation’s Nightingale Awards and Gala, named after nursing icon Florence Nightingale, is an annual event spotlighting nursing excellence in 18 categories.
