With Hurricane Ida exacerbating already low supplies at local blood banks, the Blood Center is putting out an urgent call for blood donations.
Although the storm has temporarily closed some locations, the Blood Center’s Mandeville office at 4350 Highway 22 is now open and accepting donations.
Additionally, upcoming blood drives are scheduled for Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church and St. Joseph Abbey Seminary, both in Covington, and Davis Moran VFW Post 8290 in Lacombe.
Walk-ins are welcome, although appointments are preferred and can be made at the TheBloodCenter.org or by calling 1(800)86-BLOOD.
