And then, on Wednesday (Dec. 14), staff at St. Tammany Cancer Center, a campus of Ochsner Medical Center, kicked off their annual Christmas food box drive-through for invited patients of the center.
In all, 90 local families were expected to pass through over the course of the three-day event, which was sponsored by Winn-Dixie, St. Tammany Hospital Foundation, Northshore Food Bank and St. Joseph Abbey. In addition to smiles and hugs, each received a food box curated by the center’s dietitians and containing the following:
Fresh produce (3 potatoes, 1 head of broccoli, 1 onion, 1 bag of carrots)
Thanks to everyone who helped make the event a success – and merry Christmas to all!
