Northshore cancer patients, survivors and caregivers were honored Tuesday as part of “Celebrating You,” a quarterly tribute at St. Tammany Cancer Center – A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center designed both to salute their determination and remind them of the broad community committed to supporting them.
In addition to screenings, education opportunities and activities, the event showcased the myriad enrichment programs available at the Covington cancer center, from free art and yoga classes to tai chi and musical therapy to an on-site nutritional food pantry.
The day carried a heart health theme, in recognition of last month as American Heart Month, and included on-site carotid artery scans performed by the STHS Community Outreach team.
Other “Celebrate You” observations will boast similar themes.
