Ballard Brands is coordinating on behalf of Chevron a donation of a complete tanker of gas for first-responders and healthcare workers in need.
The gasoline is being donated free of charge and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Chevron will have the tanker ready for fill-ups – in vehicles and in gas cans – at the St. Tammany Cancer Center, a campus of Ochsner Medical Center, at 900 Ochsner Blvd., in Covington.
It will be made available today only (Saturday, Sept. 4) beginning at 2:45 p.m. and continuing until dusk or until supplies are exhausted.
Chevron estimates the gas is enough to fill up approximately 500 vehicles.
Ochsner Health and St. Tammany Health System are proud to host this gift to those who have been working nonstop since Hurricane Ida devastated Louisiana last Sunday.
Thanks to Chevron and Ballard Brands for helping those that serve our community.
