With the state of Louisiana easing restrictions on non-emergency and non-COVID care, St. Tammany Health System is expanding its call centers’ hours of operation for the month of May to accommodate patients needing to schedule doctor visits or diagnostic testing delayed by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

To schedule or discuss primary-care visits at any of our STHS clinics, patients should call (985)898-4001 from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays through Fridays or from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

To schedule or discuss diagnostic care, they should call (985)871-5665 from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays through Fridays or from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

The expanded call center hours will begin Friday (May 1).

On Monday (April 27), new state guidelines went into effect allowing for treatment of non-emergency, non-COVID cases for time-sensitive conditions and to avoid further harm from an underlying condition or disease.

Patients should discuss needs with their physician or surgeon to determine appropriate next steps in their personal care.

For the safety of its patients and employees, St. Tammany Health System has instituted procedures to protect against transmission of COVID-19, including universal patient screening, at all of its facilities.

Additionally, in keeping with Gov. John Bel Edwards’ statewide recommendations, STHS encourages all visitors to wear a face mask or similar covering whenever in public, including at any STHS facility.

Anyone who suspects they might have COVID-19 or who is exhibiting COVID symptoms should contact their primary-care physician via telephone before visiting any medical facility in person.
