In the “new” normal prompted by the COVID-19 coronavirus, we continue to hear about antibody testing and blood donation, but what exactly does it mean and how can you help? A free virtual event hosted by the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce’s Live Better St. Tammany Committee aims to provide you with answers.

Scheduled for 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday (May 20), the event will feature Dr. Michael Hill, the chief quality officer with St. Tammany Health System and an infectious disease specialist, who will explain antibody testing, as well as who should get it, what it means, and how you can help by donating plasma.

He will be joined by Dr. Tim Peterson, medical director of The Blood Center, who will describe the importance of donating blood right now and what safety protocols are in place.

The event will is being offered online only via Zoom. For more information or to register, visit the event page at the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce website.
