The high temperature in Covington on Wednesday (July 8) climbed to a scorching 94 degrees, but things felt a little cooler – not to mention sweeter – for employees at St. Tammany Health System.
In a display of gratitude for the warrior ethic of the Covington hospital’s team of healthcare heroes amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Metairie Bank Northshore teamed with St. Tammany Hospital Foundation to host a free snowball day on the main hospital campus.
The sweet treats -- which featured such classic snowball flavors as spearmint, wedding cake, Tiger’s Blood and more -- were whipped up by the folks from LouLa’s Snowballs of Covington in their can’t-miss-it canary yellow trailer and handed out to a steady stream of grateful colleagues for much of the afternoon.
