We interrupt this pandemic ...

Technically, the “dog days” of summer don’t start this year until Aug. 16, which is when Sirius, the so-called “dog star,” will rise in the sky and, as tradition holds, usher in the hottest, most oppressive days of the season.
But that’s only astronomically speaking. Here on the ground, it seems like we’ve been in the dog days of summer 2020 for weeks, if not longer. COVID-19 cases are rising. The summertime heat is nudging ever closer to face-melting territory. To add insult to injury, this fall’s football season appears to be in jeopardy.
Despite it all, we’ve still got lives to live, pandemic or no pandemic. There are children to raise, meals to be made and – for the lucky among us – golf to be played.
And so, while we’d be remiss if we didn’t include the latest COVID-19 information in this month’s newsletter – we are St. Tammany Parish’s oldest and foremost healthcare organization, after all – we’ve made an effort to sprinkle this issue with a healthy dose of practical advice from our team of health experts.
