The St. Tammany Hospital Foundation wove a special kind of magic on Thursday, Oct. 1, inviting guests to “Step Into the Woods” for a whimsical night of fairy-tale-themed magic at THE Gala 2020, its annual flagship fundraiser.
Fewer tickets were made available this year out of social distancing concerns, and face coverings were the accessory du jour. (The wicked spell of COVID-19 still lingers throughout the kingdom, after all.) But such logistical challenges were no match for the generosity of those attending the enchanted soiree – dress code: black tie or fairy-tale-inspired – which raised $155,000 for cancer care on the Northshore.
In addition to local movers, shakers and healers, attendees included such “celebrity” guests as Little Riding Hood, the Big Bad Wolf and a poison-apple toting wicked witch. (Don’t worry: Only some of the apples were actually poisoned.) They added a dose Grimm Brothers cred to the night, which also included a live painter, live and silent auctions, and more.
Below, find a selection of photos from The Gala 2020, which was once more made possible by the generosity of title sponsor HUB International, with featured sponsors including S. Tammany Health System, Ochsner Health, Hancock Whitney, Humana, United Healthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana.
