Tired of being tired? St. Tammany Health System and Ochsner are teaming with the YMCA for a free informational lecture on sleep apnea.

Led by Covington pulmonologist Dr. Lauren Davis, the hourlong session is scheduled for 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday (June 11) at the West St. Tammany YMCA, 71256 Francis Road in Covington

The event is open to the public; no reservations are required.

Studies have shown that untreated sleep disorders, especially obstructive sleep apnea can lead to increase risk for a number of health issues, including:

  • High blood pressure.
  • Heart disease.
  • Heart attack.
  • Stroke.
  • Fatigue-related motor vehicle and work accidents.
  • Decreased quality of life.
