STPH GUILD RAISES $12,000 FOR HOSPITAL FOUNDATION,
INSTALLS 2015 BOARD MEMBERS

COVINGTON – As part of it mission to support hospital programs in addition to assisting patients and guests, the St. Tammany Hospital Guild donated $12,000 to the St. Tammany Hospital Foundation at its first quarterly meeting of 2015.

“The Guild makes donations to the Foundation on an annual basis to help them meet and exceed their goal to fortify the promise to provide world-class healthcare close to home now and for generations to come,” said incoming President Ron Rome.

The Guild has donated more than $137,000 since the Foundation’s inception in 2003 and is recognized at the Partner Level on the Donor Wall of Honor in the hospital’s main lobby.

"We are grateful that the Guild, which gives so much of their time and talent to the hospital, gives of their treasure as well,” said Foundation Executive Director Charley Strickland.

The Guild’s 2015 board of directors was sworn in during the meeting. Board members include Ron Rome, president; Charles LaRose, vice president; Sharon Smith, treasurer; MaryAnn Brockhaus, recording secretary; and Anna Bienvenu, corresponding secretary. The Guild also recognized outgoing president David Brumfield.

The St. Tammany Hospital Guild is an organization of about 100 members who donate 25,000 hours each year in 20 of the hospital’s departments. The Guild raises money through sales in the hospital gift shop and other fundraisers to provide nursing and allied health scholarships for fall and spring semesters. The scholarships are awarded to deserving hospital staff members who are furthering their education in medical fields.
