Through the generosity of Chevron and Ballard Brands, STHS and Ochsner will continue to host a free gas giveaway for first responders and healthcare professionals today (Sunday, Sept. 5) at the new St. Tammany Cancer Center, a campus of Ochsner Medical, at 900 Ochsner Blvd. in Covington.
Distribution begins at 9 a.m. and will continue until dusk or when supplies are exhausted.
Gas can be dispensed directly into vehicles and/or in gas cans.
Separately, St. Tammany Health System will be distributing free gas today to STHS and Ochsner employees with work IDs at the Charles A. Frederick Medical Office Building at 1203 S. Tyler St., just across from St. Tammany Parish Hospital.
Hours for that distribution will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., until supplies last. Gas in that case will be pumped only into vehicle gas tanks; no gas cans. Distribution will be suspended for Monday, Labor Day, but will continue Tuesday as supplies allow.
