Guild and Med Staff Award Employee Scholarships


COVINGTON – Seven St. Tammany Parish Hospital employees received more than $10,000 in scholarships from the Guild and Medical Staff Committee.  

“There were so many outstanding applicants,” said Judy LaCour, Guild Scholarship Chairperson. “I am proud the Guild chose to give six scholarships instead of five to these outstanding employees.”

The St. Tammany Hospital Guild awarded six scholarships to deserving employees that are pursuing education to further their careers at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. The scholarships were awarded to the following recipients:

Lacey Boudreaux Nursing Assistant, 3 East.  Boudreaux, who joined STPH in July 2007, is pursuing an associate’s degree in nursing from Charity School of Nursing.

Erin Bowman Nursing Assistant, 3 East.  Bowman, who joined STPH in June of 2015, is pursuing an associate’s degree in nursing from Charity School of Nursing.

Ashley Lyon Nurse tech, resource staffing.  Lyon, who joined STPH in June of 2014, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing from LSUHSC.

Karolina Ruthner RN, Cath Lab.  Ruthner, who joined STPH in January of 2016, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing.

Ginger Taylor Office Coordinator, Chemo Services.  Taylor, who joined STPH in September of 1999, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Delgado Community College.

Karah Dykes Patient Access Rep, ER admitting. Dykes, who joined STPH in January 2011, is pursuing an associate’s degree in applied science for radiologic technology from Delgado Community College. 

 


The Medical Staff Committee awarded its spring 2016 professional education scholarship to Gina Montgomery RN. Montgomery joined STPH in March 2003 and is a registered nurse in the New Family Center. She is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Both scholarship programs support the hospital’s leadership role in assisting employees to further their education, training and careers at STPH.
