Healing Arts Reception Feb. 15
Healing Arts Committee Hosts Reception for New Rotating Gallery Exhibit
COVINGTON – The St. Tammany Hospital Foundation’s Healing Arts Committee is hosting a reception to open the third artist exhibit in its rotating art gallery series on Feb. 15, 4-6 p.m., in the St. Tammany Parish Hospital main lobby. The event will include a brief program and artist recognition at 4:30 p.m., and tours of the galleries.
“The word ‘ordinary’ is often used to describe something that can be easily forgotten. The artwork represented in this exhibit is the antithesis of ordinary. Viewers will experience a collection of moments not to be forgotten,” said Mary Lee, chairman of the Healing Arts Initiative. “It is filled with moments of reflection, beauty and healing that can be found in everyday objects to the abstract and beyond.”
Seven local artists will be exhibited through April 3 in hallways near the Education Dept. off the main lobby, 3 North and gift shop. Artists showcased include, Pennie Carr, Muriel Dauterive, Elizabeth Impastato, Mel Moncada, Eric Mondello, Robert Santopadre, Jim Seitz, Lori Sperier and Cynthia Webb. The exhibit, titled “No Ordinary Moments,” will include a mixture of acrylics and oils on canvas and mixed media capturing moments that simply cannot be forgotten.
