In summer 2021, St. Tammany Health System and its partner Ochsner Health changed the face of cancer care on the Northshore with the opening of St. Tammany Cancer Center – A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center, a $50 million, game-changing facility on Interstate 12 and Louisiana 21 designed to offer patients comprehensive cancer care under one roof.
Nearly four years later, the center’s multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment – and the added expertise of M.D. Anderson via its wider partnership with Ochsner – has helped it become the premiere destination for cancer care on the Northshore.
But what exactly makes it so special?
To answer that not-so-simple question, we brought together some of the center’s sharpest minds for a two-part episode we’ve titled “Cancer is a Team Sport.”
In this first episode, host Amy Bouton sits down with medical oncologist Dr. Suma Reddy-Satti; surgical oncologist Dr. Brian Pettiford; radiation oncology specialist Dr. Erik Lappinen; and Nurse Practitioner Renee Christman, who focuses on hematology oncology.
