STQN Announces Second Quarter 2017 Medical Director’s Award

COVINGTON – St. Tammany Quality Network (STQN) presented its 2017 second quarter Medical Director’s Award to gastroenterologists, Nathan Ranney MD and L. Phillips Jenkins MD. Drs. Ranney and Jenkins have advanced GI care for St. Tammany Quality Network, including policy, procedures, care and overall experience for patients.

Dr. Jenkins has led the way to improve endoscopy lab efficiency at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. His efforts have decreased patient procedure wait times and allowed more patient access to the GI services, which has improved the patient experience. Dr. Ranney has led the development of the Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) program. This program provides the community an advanced diagnostic modality that allows for early detection of GI malignancies.

“Drs. Jenkins and Ranney provide invaluable clinic and administrative insight to the St. Tammany Quality Network,” said Dr. Michael K. Hill STQN Medical Director. “Dr. Jenkins serves on the St. Tammany Quality Network board and Dr. Ranney is an active committee member. They represent the future leaders of STQN. ”

Most recently, Drs. Ranney and Jenkins presented a Continuing Medical Education update on the C. difficile to the
