“We are the heartbeat of our community.”
Those are the first words of our St. Tammany Health System mission statement, so it’s only fitting that the cover of our first 2023 issue of Heart to Heart magazine features an image of a heart.
That photo was taken at our STHS Cardiovascular Clinic, which, like the health system as a whole, is in growth mode as we continue expanding to meet the needs of our friends, family and neighbors on the Northshore.
It’s also emblematic of the central role we’ve played in western St. Tammany Parish since our founding on Dec. 1, 1954. Since then, our community has experienced explosive growth. As we approach our 70th anniversary next year, we’ve been working hard to keep pace.
In fact, our continued growth to meet the needs of our community earned us a spot in The Times-Picayune’s year-end list of the Top 10 St. Tammany stories of the year.
That growth will continue in 2023, and the expansion of the STHS Cardiovascular Clinic, which you can read about on pages 8 and 9, is just one part of it.
