Spring has officially sprung on the Northshore, and so has the latest issue of Heart to Heart magazine, St. Tammany Health System’s quarterly publication covering all the things happening at the parish’s oldest hospital – and, brother, are things ever happening.

Among the stories featured in this edition:

• Our new four-story, $56 million patient care tower is finally complete. Although our ribbon-cutting this month was a smaller-than-usual affair in deference to crowd-size limitations, our cameras were there to give you a peek inside what we’re calling “The House That Nurses Built.”
• Covington High School graduate Dr. Angela Buonagura has returned to St. Tammany Health System, serving as a breast surgeon at STHS’s new Breast Disease and High Risk Clinic, which we recently opened next door to our Women’s Pavilion. Read about what drew Dr. Buonagura back, and about the clinic, in a two-page spread.
• Two more St. Tammany Health System facilities have been designated Certified Autism Centers, bringing the total to four STHS departments.
• St. Tammany Health System colleagues gathered in March to reflect on one year of COVID on the Northshore – and to look forward at what the future may bring.
