Add COVID vaccines to the list of things attendees can look forward to at Covington’s Juneteenth Freedom Celebration this Saturday (June 19).
St. Tammany Health System’s new Be Well Bus, a 40-foot motorcoach dedicated to community health, will be at the Rev. Peter Atkins Park for a free pop-up vaccine clinic, offering those 18 and older Johnson & Johnson’s single-shot, one-and-done vaccine.
The day will also include a 9 a.m. Freedom Parade followed at 10 a.m. by games, music, food and more at the park, 701 N. Columbia St.
In addition to Saturday’s pop-up clinic, St. Tammany Health System is currently administering COVID vaccines at its ExpressCare clinic in Covington from 8 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and from noon to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays. Appointments should be made via the free MyChart app. Those experiencing difficulty with the app can make an appointment by calling (985)898-4001, which is answered 24/7, although anticipated heavy call volumes may result in a longer-than-usual wait during peak hours.
