Call it a sign of progress.
A really, really BIG sign of progress.
Crews with Sign Lite installed an illuminated, 9-foot version of St. Tammany Health System’s new double-hearts logo – unveiled a year ago this month – outside its Covington hospital on Monday (Dec. 21).
Removal of the old logo began about 9 a.m., followed by preparation work to install the new one, which crews began wrestling into place around 2:45 p.m. By 3:30, it was in place and, once the sun went down, shining its light over South Tyler Street.
On Tuesday afternoon, a nearly identical version was installed on the hospital’s new, four-story patient tower, which is nearing completion.
A handful of similar logos are to be installed are various places on the hospital’s exterior over the next few weeks. Once they’re done with that, crews will replace monument signage around campus and at the health system’s more than two dozen satellite locations across west St. Tammany Parish.
The entire signage project is expected to be complete by the end of the first quarter of 2021.
