The main parking lot at St. Tammany Health System’s flagship St. Tammany Parish Hospital will be getting a little TLC over the next several weekends, which may require temporary alterations to traffic flow for visitors.
Beginning Friday (Sept. 22, 2023) and continuing for several weeks, work crews will conduct a five-phase repair and re-striping project in the parking lot just outside the hospital, at the eastern corner of South Tyler Street and West 8th Avenue.
Each of the five phases will take place on consecutive weekends and affect a different portion of the lot. At no time will the entire lot be closed to the public.
The plan for each weekend is as follows:
· Thursday evening: STHS Security marks off each affected phase.
· Friday afternoon: Asphalt crews conducts patch work and other repairs.
· Saturday evening and night: Crews seal asphalt in the affected area.
· Sunday: Crews re-stripe the affected area.
· Monday: Affected area reopened to parking.
