We already know the COVID-19 vaccine can keep you safe and healthy. Now, it might also make you a millionaire.

Starting today (Monday, June 21), vaccinated Louisiana residents can register with the state of Louisiana’s “Shot at a Million” vaccine incentive program, which will distribute a total of $2.3 million in cash and scholarships over the next month.

Only those Louisiana residents who have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine by July 31 are eligible. Winners will be chosen by random drawing.

Those between the ages of 12 and 17 are eligible to win one of nine $100,000 scholarships. Those 18 and older are eligible to win one of four $100,000 prizes, as well as a $1 million grand prize.

To register, visit ShotAtAMillion.com and complete the online registration form. Those without internet access or who have questions can call (877)356-1511 to register. Participants need only register once to be included in all drawings.

The winners of the first prizes, a $100,000 cash prize and a $100,000 scholarship, will be announced July 14. New winners will be announced weekly, culminating with the $1 million grand prize drawing, to be announced Aug. 4.

Visit ShotAtAMIllion.com for more information.

STHS also continues to administer COVID-19 vaccines by appointment at its Express Care clinic in Covington on Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to noon and on Fridays from noon to 4:30 p.m.

Appointments are necessary to receive a vaccine and should be made via the free MyChart app. Those experiencing difficulty with the app can make an appointment by calling (985) 898-4001, which is answered 24/7, although anticipated heavy call volumes may result in a longer-than-usual wait during peak hours.
