High Risk Clinic

Whether you’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer or your medical or family history simply puts you at an elevated risk for developing it, it’s perfectly understandable for you to be experiencing an uncomfortable mix of emotions right now.

But it’s important to remember you’re not alone in this. St. Tammany Health System’s multi-disciplinary team approach to cancer care – and, ultimately, survivorship – consistently delivers some of the best care in the region, all geared toward each patient’s unique case and needs.

Our High-Risk Clinic offers a range of services for patients who have an elevated risk for developing breast cancer. This includes those with prior history or family history of breast cancer, a Tyrer Cuzick Score of 20% or more, a positive BRACA gene and others.

Among the services offered by our highly trained team:

  • Individualized risk assessment and plan of care
  • Genetic testing
  • Risk-reducing surgeries
  • Routine breast imaging every six months
  • Chemoprevention
  • Breast exams

  • Breast Disease and High-Risk clinic

At St. Tammany Health System, we prioritize not just treating cancer but guiding patients through survivorship. Central to that is a philosophy that everyone’s cancer journey is different, which is why we advocate a personalized approach through collaborative management of early detection and cancer care. This collaboration extends to coordinating high-risk patient care with the St. Tammany Cancer Center — A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center, particularly for patients at high risk for breast and other cancers.
