Hospital Service District Board Names New Commissioner
CPA Appointed to St. Tammany Parish Hospital Service District No. 1 Board of Commissioners
COVINGTON – St. Tammany Parish Hospital Service District No. 1 Board of Commissioners welcomes Edgar J. Dillard Jr. CPA as its newest member, appointed by Parish President Mike Cooper as his designee.
A resident of St. Tammany Parish for more than 35 years, Dillard is a certified public accountant and an active, engaged citizen. Dillard most recently served on the transition team for the incoming Cooper administration, and formerly served on the St. Tammany Home Rule Charter Committee and its predecessor, the Home Rule Charter Commission.
Dillard has a long history of Northshore civic involvement having served on the boards of the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum, Youth Service Bureau, Northlake Mandeville Rotary, St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce, St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation and Leadership St. Tammany.

St. Tammany Parish Hospital Service District No. 1 – St. Tammany Health System – is governed by an eight-member Board of Commissioners, six appointed by the St. Tammany Parish Council to six-year staggered terms, one elected by the medical staff to a one-year term and one nonvoting member, the Parish President or designee. The Board of Commissioners meets once a month and governs hospital operations.
St. Tammany Parish Hospital is an independent service district, part of St. Tammany Health System. It is in a clinically integrated partnership with Ochsner Health System. Together, the two organizations focus on aligning their healthcare offerings to best serve patients and families in west St. Tammany and surrounding areas. Under their agreement, the two organizations retain their autonomy; neither partner manages nor owns the other.
