2Q STQN Medical Director Awards

STQN NAMES 2ND QUARTER MEDICAL DIRECTOR AWARD RECIPIENTS

COVINGTON – The St. Tammany Quality Network has presented its second quarter Medical Director Award to four recipients for their work in developing and presenting two separate continuing medical education courses to St. Tammany Parish Hospital physicians and clinical staff.

Drs. Ralph Millet and Jonathan Wise combined to provide a primary care and specialty care perspective on the on the management of diabetic patients in both settings. Key points covered included new, innovative therapies, nutrition recommendations as well as an update of the most recent medical literature regarding screenings and treatment options.

Drs. Joseph Landers and Allen Lacour presented clinical pathways for the appropriate ordering of imaging exams and proper treatment of those patients who have an initial diagnosis of  primary back pain. Effective ordering minimizes imaging exposure to patients and following treatment guidelines aims to get patients back to full function as soon as possible.

“These physicians contributed their time and efforts in developing salient, informative and evidence-based presentations to the medical staff,” said STQN Medical Director Dr. Mike Hill. "It is presentation such as this that makes us better clinicians for our community."

The Medical Director Award was created in July 2014 to recognize STQN-affiliated physicians who demonstrate innovative leadership, a commitment to quality and a focus on efficiency.
