The Northshore District Nurses Association has announced its list of the top 20 nurses of 2020, and three St. Tammany Health System nurses are in that number.
In a ceremony Wednesday morning (Oct. 21), representatives from the NDNA – which covers both St. Tammany and Washington parishes – presented STHS Director of Emergency Services Bradley Leonard, Critical Care RN Supervisor Jennifer Corcoran and Orthopedic Patient Navigator Sarah Delery with their awards, which included plaques and gift bags.
Leonhard has been a nurse for eight years, including six with STHS; Corcoran has been a nurse for 22 years, 13 with STHS; and Delery has been a nurse for 15 years, all with STHS.
“We are very fortunate to have these three, who all have been providing quality and compassionate care for our patients here at St. Tammany Health System for years,” said STHS Chief Nursing Officer Kerry Milton, who noted that 2020 has been recognized as the Year of the Nurse.
“It’s been a very difficult time for our patients, and our nurses have stepped up,” Milton added, alluding to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. “We just want to say how proud we are of the work you’re doing. Thank you for all you do.”
