The in-person portion of St. Tammany Hospital Foundation’s 2020 Angels of Light tree-lighting ceremony, previously scheduled for Dec. 10, has been cancelled out of an abundance of caution amid rising COVID numbers, it has been announced.
Instead, the foundation is planning a virtual tree-lighting event, to be held later this year. Details will be announced once finalized.
The Hospice Tree for Life is a long-standing tradition of St. Tammany Health System Hospice. Each year, the Tree for Life is illuminated in a beautiful holiday ceremony.
In addition, the tree is decorated with Tribute Angels. Each angel represents a special person who is being honored or memorialized by a friend or family member. Every light on the Hospice Tree for Life symbolizes the extraordinary care and comfort provided to all hospice patients.
The 2020 Hospice Tree for Life is dedicated in memory of Richard and Sally Knight by their children and grandchildren.
Local residents are invited to honor loved ones in 2020 by purchasing a Tribute Angel to be placed on the tree. All angels will adorn the tree through the month of December and will be available for pick-up in January.
