With the new year just around the corner, the St. Tammany Health System lab is challenging the community to help it finish the year on a strong note by donating blood and helping it surpass the 300-pint milestone for 2024.
Year-to-date, the health system has collected 241 pints of blood, meaning it’s just 59 pints from the 300-pint mark – and there’s one more chance to get it to the finish line.
On Dec. 26, the health system will host a blood drive from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Mandeville/Covington Room at its flagship St. Tammany Parish Hospital.
All donors are reminded to have a full meal before donating and to bring their picture ID.
As always, walk-ins are welcome, although appointments are preferred and can be made at the Blood Center website or by scanning the QR code below.
All successful donors will receive a fleece “Blanket of Love” emblazoned with the Blood Center logo – and the satisfaction that they helped save lives.
