The Easter Bunny took a break from preparing for his big day to spread a little pre-holiday cheer this week to Northshore cancer patients and their families at St. Tammany Cancer Center, a campus of Ochsner Medical Center.
The event, organized by the nonprofit cancer support group Ruby’s Kids, saw cancer center staff and volunteers welcoming guests Thursday afternoon (April 7) with food, music and a variety of springtime events, including an Easter egg hunt, face painting and, of course, a chance to visit with the big bunny himself.
Others helping make the event possible included St. Tammany Hospital Foundation, Art on the Go, Ed Brauner American Legion Post 307, Jimmy John’s and Mele Printing.
The celebration marked a return of sorts for the annual celebration following two years of COVID restrictions, and the weather cooperated fully, with moderate temperatures, a clear blue sky and a brisk wind.
