The talents and skills of the doctors, nurses and other care providers at St. Tammany Health System are, of course, our primary source of healing – but they’re not alone.
Take, for example, STHS Security Lt. Fred Booker, a universally beloved member of the STHS team who fills the lobby of our Covington hospital with music, thanks to his natural musical abilities and the baby grand piano installed in the lobby as part of St. Tammany Hospital Foundation’s Healing Arts program.
Lt. Booker and his lifetime of service to his community are the focus of the cover of the spring 2022 issue of Heart to Heart, a quarterly magazine highlighting news and notes from St. Tammany’s hometown hospital.
Among other stories featured in this edition:
The latest on COVID-19, including an answer to the question: “Are we done with COVID?”A profile of a convenient new STHS program, free to Medicare Part B participants, that sees highly trained medical professionals visiting patients in their homes to conduct annual wellness exams. The story of Al Templet, a patient who – on a whim – took advantage last year of a free skin cancer screening hosted by STHS. It may have saved his life.An innovative surgery technique at STHS designed to spare some breast cancer patients an unnecessary – and potentially disruptive – underarm surgery.A sneak peek at the theme for THE Gala 2022, St. Tammany Hospital Foundation’s signature annual fundraiser.
