Annual Halloween Event Raises Funds for STPH Parenting Center

COVINGTON – Tickets are now on sale for the 28th annual Monster Mash presented by Capital One Bank held on Oct. 15, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Bogue Falaya Park. Proceeds from Monster Mash support the St. Tammany Parish Hospital Parenting Center.

Tickets are $15 per child and $5 per adult in advance and $20 per child and $10 per adult at the gate. Children 11 months and younger are admitted free. Tickets may be purchased at St. Tammany Hospital Guild Gift Shop, Parenting Center, Braswell Drugs, Playville, Learning Express Toys of Mandeville and Hebert Cleaners.

Monster Mash, the Parenting Center’s only fundraiser each year, benefits the center’s programs for families, which are offered at little or no cost. The Parenting Center promotes confidence and competence in parenting, encourages optimal child development and enhances the wellbeing of the entire family.

“Celebrating 28 years, Monster Mash is a staple in the Northshore community,” said Foundation Specialist Melanie Byrd. “The event gives families a fun and safe Halloween experience at beautiful Bogue Falaya Park, while also supporting the vital programs and services offered to our community by the Parenting Center.”

Monster Mash features fun activities for the entire family, including musical entertainment by Bag of Donuts and Remedy. Children of all ages can enjoy the Trick-or-Treat Village, fun games and prize booth, a rock wall, super slide, Zorb Balls, cookie decorating, a craft by Home Depot, Carousel Farm’s Mini Horses, hair and face painting, Wipeout Obstacle Course, Swamp Boat, animal attractions, Bid and Boo silent auction, shopping and food villages, and more.

The popular Princess & Pirate Tea, presented by Ochsner Health System, is a reservations-only event featuring a meet-and-greet with Princess Belle and Pirate Jake, cupcakes, keepsake photos and a goodie bag. Seatings are at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Tickets, which cost $35 and include child’s admission to Monster Mash, must be purchased in advance and are available at the STPH Parenting Center, 1505 N. Florida St., Suite B in Covington and the Tchefuncte Ace Hardware in Madisonville.
