Nominate a Colleague as a YMCA Hero

The West St. Tammany YMCA is looking for a few good men and women.

The local organization has issued a call for nominations for its Northshore Heroes awards, bestowed annually upon those who aid it in its mission to build healthy spirit, mind and body for all while living the core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith.

A panel of judges will select the ultimate winners, who will be recognized at the annual West St. Tammany YMCA Northshore Heroes Award Luncheon, to be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday (May 15) at Tchefuncta Country Club.  The deadline for nominations is March 27.

Nominations should include a short paragraph explaining how the nominee has impacted the community with regard to:

-- Healthy living (health promotion through physical, mental or spiritual means);

-- Social responsibility (contribution of time, goods or funds leading to a positive impact in the community;

-- Youth development (working with minors via coaching, youth leadership, teaching, counseling, etc.).

Nominations should also describe how the nominee embodies the values that guide and unite people in the community through caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith.
