It’s no secret that hospitals and health systems across the country – just like other industries – have been smarting from the workforce shortage that was exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
But at St. Tammany Health System, which in September was named one of CityBusiness’ Best Places to Work in New Orleans, leaders are coming up with creative ways for the health system to stand out to prospective employees.
That includes recent salary adjustments. It includes a recently enhanced benefits package. It includes what the health system likes to call its “Culture of Caring,” and more.
And while those strategies apply to colleagues at all levels, there’s been a particular emphasis on bringing quality nurses into the fold, as health system AVP of Workforce Strategy Bronwyn Doyle and Talent Acquisition Manager Elisa Rosales told The Lake 94.7-FM host Charles Dowdy during a visit to the studio on Thursday (Feb. 23, 2023).
