With the start of school just around the corner, and with many children soon to be arriving home daily before their parents get home from work, St. Tammany Parenting Center is offering a Safe@Home class to teach kids the do’s and don’ts of staying home alone.

The two-hour course, set for Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to noon, is designed for students in grades 4 through 6 and is facilitated by a Safe Sitter instructor. Among other things, students will learn how to handle common household emergencies, how to answer the door, how to address illness or injury, and more.

A student handbook will be provided.

The cost per person is $25. Click here to learn more, including how to register.
