Learning how to save a life just got easier.
Stop the Bleed, a program formed to teach everyday people simple, lifesaving techniques to stabilize someone suffering from uncontrolled bleeding until medical professionals arrive, has introduced a free, interactive online course available on its website.
To receive Stop the Bleed certification, participants must complete the online course – which can be found under the “Get Trained” tab on StopTheBleed.org – followed by a 10-minute, in-person session with St. Tammany Health System’s Trauma Services Team.
As part of its Stop the Bleed program, the STHS trauma team has scheduled a series of free, skills-only sessions for those wishing to earn certification.
See below for a schedule of upcoming skills-only sessions, which will be conducted every 10 minutes. You can register at StTammany.Health/Bleed. All classes will be held in the Covington / Mandeville room at St. Tammany Health System’s flagship St. Tammany Parish Hospital, 1202 S. Tyler St., Covington
