STQN Announces 2019 First Quarter Medical Director’s Award
COVINGTON –– St. Tammany Quality Network presented the 2019 first quarter Medical Director’s Award to James Connolly MD for his assistance in the development of a more efficient treatment option for patients with a ruptured eardrum. Dr. Connolly is an active member of the STQN Finance and Contracting committee and has been involved in the improvement of ear, nose and throat care delivery in west St. Tammany for more than six years.
“Dr. Connolly’s enthusiasm and thoughtfulness in improving patient care is impressive,” said Michael K. Hill MD, STQN medical director. “His unique ability to analyze care pathways has provided numerous recommendations that improve patient outcomes.”
Dr. Connolly is a New Orleans native and received a Bachelor of Science from Millsaps College. After completing his undergraduate studies, he spent a year researching nerve regeneration and assisting with cornea transplantation at LSU Medical Center (Lyons Clinic). He received a medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, completed an internship in general surgery and residency in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery at University of Mississippi Medical Center. He is board certified in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery as well as sleep medicine.
