STQN Announces 2017 3rd Quarter Medical Director's Award

STQN Announces Third Quarter 2017 Medical Director’s Award

COVINGTON – St. Tammany Quality Network (STQN) presented its 2017 third quarter Medical Director’s Award to Jennifer Daly MD, breast radiologist, and Gregory Henkelmann MD, radiation oncologist, for their work to advance breast cancer care for the St. Tammany Quality Network.

“Drs. Daly and Henkelmann have done a remarkable job promoting innovative breast cancer care for our community,” said Dr. Michael K. Hill, STQN medical director and governing board chair. “I am grateful for the outstanding care they provide patients, and our community is fortunate to have their expertise.”

Drs. Daly and Henkelmann participated on a breast cancer leadership team and were key members of the team that established a multidisciplinary breast tumor conference. These efforts led St. Tammany Parish Hospital to be granted a three-year/full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. STPH is one of only five breast programs in the state with this distinction.

St. Tammany Quality Network continuously strives to keep the medical and nursing staff at St. Tammany Parish Hospital informed of best practices and how to best serve the patients of west St. Tammany Parish.
