If you’re a parent whose child has started driving, you know just how stressful a time it can be when they’re still learning the rules of the road – and the responsibility that comes with it.
That’s why St. Tammany Health System and Louisiana State Police are teaming up for Sudden Impact, a free, daylong informational session open to the public and geared toward young drivers.
Scheduled for July 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the St. Tammany Parish Hospital campus (1202 S. Tyler St., Covington), the session will teach participants about the consequences of driving impaired, distracted and unrestrained. That will include witness demonstrations and testimonials about traumatic car crashes from three perspectives: that of the crash survivor, of law enforcement and of medical staff.
In addition to potentially saving lives, attendants may qualify for a reduction in auto insurance, depending on your insurer.
