Unique Fundraising Event Happening at Covington Trailhead
COVINGTON – The 2019 Gurney Games, presented by fl+WB Architects, takes place Sunday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. at the Covington trailhead to benefit St. Tammany Hospital Foundation.
This unique fundraising event is open to the public and has something for all ages. The gurney parade, where teams display elaborately decorated and themed gurneys, will begin just after 2 p.m. followed by the gurney race and obstacle challenge.
“Gurney Games is such a unique way to support St. Tammany Parish Hospital while also having a great time! We love the Gurney Games spirit,” said Melanie Rudolph, foundation specialist. “From the teams to the spectators and the vendors to the volunteers, everyone truly embraces the energy and atmosphere of the day.”
The event will also have extra activities for children, including snowballs, face painting and kids’ activities by X-Fusion. Gurney fans will enjoy music by Impulse Entertainment and have the opportunity to vote for their favorite gurney. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase. This St. Tammany Hospital foundation event benefits the St. Tammany Parish Hospital expansion initiative.
