COVINGTON – The St. Tammany Health System Women’s Pavilion has earned Press Ganey’s 2022 Human Experience Guardian of Excellence Award, putting it in the top 5% of healthcare providers for patient experience in the past year.

The Guardian of Excellence Award is part of Press Ganey’s ranking of the top hospitals and health systems in the United States according to patient experience.

“This recognition of the singular care provided by our team at the Women’s Pavilion is both well-deserved and extremely gratifying,” St. Tammany Health System President and CEO Joan Coffman said. “We’ve long put an emphasis on delivering world-class health care close to home for our Northshore family and neighbors, but just as important is the way that care is provided: with professionalism, with compassion and with utmost respect for our patients. That’s the St. Tammany way.”

The Guardian of Excellence Award is the second recent recognition for St. Tammany Health System’s emphasis on patient experience. In December, Women’s Choice ranked the health system’s flagship St. Tammany Parish Hospital among the nation’s Best 100 Hospitals for Patient Experience for 2023.

It is also among a host of honors earned by the NAPBC-accredited Women’s Pavilion, which has been recognized as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiologists in addition to being a 2022 recipient of the Women’s Choice Award for Best Mammogram Center.

Founded in August 2002 as The Breast Center of St. Tammany Hospital, the Women’s Pavilion in 2011 changed its name and moved to its current location on U.S. 190 just north of Interstate 12 in Covington. In that time, it has become the Northshore’s premier destination for comprehensive breast care.

“By putting their patients and workforce first each and every day, St. Tammany Health System is demonstrating their unwavering commitment to their employees and to the communities they serve,” Press Ganey Chairman and CEO Patrick T. Ryan said. “The caregivers at St. Tammany Health System have inspired us with the compassion, empathy and human connection they bring to the clinical healthcare setting. We are honored to partner with them as we celebrate their achievement.”
