It’s not easy being a teenager, especially what with the sometimes-confusing physical changes that come with it.
To help Northshore teens adjust as they grow into young adults, St. Tammany Health System is teaming with the West St. Tammany YMCA to host a free Youth Empowerment Summit at which healthcare professionals will provide local kids with tips and guidance.
The event, set for Saturday, July 16, will feature two sessions, one for girls from 10 a.m. to noon and another for boys from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Among the topics to be discussed are skin care, nutrition, adolescent body changes and more. (See below for a full schedule). Refreshments will be provided.
Admission is free, but registration is required as space is limited. To register, contact Donna Laiche at (985) 893-9622 or donnal@ymcaneworleans.org.
