Healthcare doesn’t happen in a vacuum, which is why St. Tammany Health System introduced its Sunflower Award program to give patients, visitors, STHS colleagues and others a way to recognize non-nursing support staff and caregivers for outstanding contributions to our healing mission.
Nominees should exemplify one or more of the following Sunflower standards:
Supports nursing staff, skillful, sincere, self-confident
Unique, understanding, upbeat
Nurturing, not afraid of change
Fosters positive interactions and connections with patients
Likeable, loyal, logical
Outgoing, open-minded, optimistic
Welcoming, willing, warm
Embraces St. Tammany Health System’s standards, effective communicator, eager
Reliable, resourceful
All nominees will be forwarded to a committee that will consider them blindly, with two winners selected every quarter.
In addition to a certificate in an embossed holder, winners will receive a Sunflower pin to wear on their STHS name badge (so everyone will know how awesome they are), as well as sunflower seeds for planting and an STHS swag bag. Those nominated but not selected as a winner will receive acknowledgment of their nomination in the form of a thank-you note sent to their home by the health system.
