Outreach and Education
At St. Tammany Health System, our mission statement is clear and straightforward: “We are the heartbeat of our community, caring for our patients and their families with excellence, compassion and teamwork.”
To live up to that mission, we do much more than heal the sick. We also work diligently to promote education and wellness throughout the Northshore communities we serve, all in the hope of giving local residents the information, tools and guidance they need to lead their happiest, healthiest lives.
From our diabetes education program to our Living Tobacco Free program to the regular community events we hold year-round, we’re always looking for new ways to keep the community informed.

From the time it was established as St. Tammany Parish Hospital in 1954, St. Tammany Health System hasn’t stopped growing – or making news. To help our patients and neighbors keep up with it all, there’s From the Heart, a free monthly newsletter covering the latest news, feature stories, health tips and events taking place at STHS.
As the Northshore’s leading provider of maternity care, we at St. Tammany Health System know your journey is only just beginning once you welcome the new addition to your family. That’s where our Parenting Center and its free First Steps e-newsletter comes in, covering the weekly changes you’ll experience from conception to 2 years old, as well as an assortment of news, resources and advice from our staff.
Since 2003, the nonprofit St. Tammany Hospital Foundation has worked tirelessly to sustain the healing work of the physicians and staff at St. Tammany Health System by serving as a conduit for the generosity of our community. Through their quarterly Mission Moments newsletter, foundation leadership offers updates on the people, events and gifts that make it all happen.
