EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

Putting the Northshore back together again since 1954.

St. Tammany Parish Hospital Emergency Department

When it comes to emergency medicine on the Northshore, our original location in Covington stands as the granddaddy of the rest.

Established in 1954 with the founding of St. Tammany Parish Hospital, it has grown continuously over the decades, not only in size and capability but in the litany of recognitions it has received.

That includes verification from the American College of Surgeons and the state of Louisiana as a Level 3 trauma center, and from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for its heart and stroke care.

All that, combined with the St. Tammany Health System staff’s experience, knowledge and compassion, makes it the Northshore’s go-to location for emergency care.

STPH verified as Level 3 trauma center

St. Tammany Parish Hospital has completed verification as a Level 3 trauma center, reinforcing public confidence in the Northshore’s longstanding leader in quality healthcare.
