Zoom Meetings

Zoom meetings

Video conferencing technology helps you stay in the loop without leaving home.

Thanks to technology, staying in touch with your healthcare provider – or, if you’re in the hospital, with your friends and family – is easier than ever. At St. Tammany Health System, we offer Zoom video conferencing for both. Below, find step-by-step instructions on how to use it.

FIRST, you will receive an email inviting you to join a Zoom meeting from your healthcare provider or loved one. The email will show the time of the meeting, the technical requirements and a link to join.

NEXT,  join the meeting by clicking the provided Zoom link, which will start with “https://Zoom.us” followed by a series of letters and/or numbers.

IF YOU’RE USING A COMPUTER

  • When you click the provided Zoom link, your browser will open to a launch page. Click “Join from your browser.”
  • Enter your full name when prompted so the person with whom you’re meeting will know it’s you, then click “Join.”
  • You will now enter the virtual waiting room. From here, your provider will admit you into the meeting.
  • Once in the meeting, you will be asked about how you would like to hear the other meeting participants. The default will be “Join Audio By Computer.” If this is your choice, make sure your computer has a microphone and speakers. You can also choose “Join Audio by iPhone,” which will provide a list of numbers so you can call in for the audio portion of the call.
  • You should now be able to see and hear the physician, and the physician will be able to see and hear you.
  • Click “Leave Meeting” when the session is over.

IF YOU’RE USING AN iPHONE OR iPAD

  • Install the “Zoom Cloud Meetings” app from the Apple App Store. Once installed, clicking on the “join” link in your email will launch the app automatically so you can join the meeting.

IF YOU’RE USING AN ANDROID DEVICE

  • Install the “Zoom Cloud Meetings” app from the Google Play Store. Once installed, clicking the “join” link in your email will launch the app automatically so you can join the meeting.
